Growing up in Oregon, my parents always told me I had something special. A special ability to connect with youth, special because it was different than most. Yes parents always have a little extra for their own, however my parents took it one step further and encouraged me to use this uniqueness to my benefit. I took up coaching and have never looked back. I decided to major in Sociology while at the University of Oregon (do not disturb me when the Ducks are on), in hopes of aspiring to become a teacher.
Safe at Home Baseball Camp gave me an opportunity to work with little league aged players, learn who I was going to be as a coach as well as be under the direct tutalidge of one of the best baseball minds ever, my father. I worked and help run this camp for ten years and ultimatly it taught me that if I want to get the most out my players and now students as well as I am now a teacher, I have to be able to connect with them on a deeper level. In other words give them a reason to look forward to our time together.
I am a fan of the Rockies and Mets, more then that, I am a fan of the game of baseball and fan of sports. I try and take the approach of the coach, what whould they do in each situation in order to mamximixe potential and success.
I enjoy sport, I enjoy my interactions with young aspiring human beings, as a coach and teacher I hope that I can instill a sense of confidence, perspective and happiness in my players and students. Looking ahead, I plan to attend graduate school in hopes of going into education administration.
